Prior to establishing Kohlberg & Associates in January of 1991, Mr. Kohlberg was Senior Vice President at The Boston Company Advisors (the mutual fund services subsidiary of Boston Safe Deposit & Trust, now part of Bank of New York Mellon). In this capacity, he served on the Executive Management Team and was responsible for relationship management, strategic planning and new business development.
Before being recruited to join TBCA, Mr. Kohlberg was Vice President and Director of Sales and Marketing for Bank of New England’s Mutual Funds Services Division (later acquired by Investors Bank & Trust, then by State Street).
Mr. Kohlberg received a Master’s degree in International Business from MIT Sloan in 1982 and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1980.
Mr. Kohlberg has been a speaker at industry conferences over the last two decades and has been profiled and/or quoted extensively in leading industry publications such as Institutional Investor, Pensions & Investments, Global Custodian, The Financial Times, Plan Sponsor, Global Money Management, Money Management Letter, Global Banking and Financial News.
In June of 2009, Mr. Kohlberg was inducted into the global securities services industry’s Hall of Fame.
